From 1 July 2022, all packaging released for consumption in Italy must be appropriately labeled. The Guidelines for the environmental labelling of packaging provide a detailed description of the approach to labeling and the necessary guidance on how to fulfill these obligations.

In addition to meeting the legal obligation on environmental labeling, many companies believe it is important to enhance additional environmental characteristics of their packaging.
