If the cork is made of cork, the consumer should be instructed to dispose of it in dedicated separate collection, where applicable, or in the separate collection for organic waste, if the packaging complies with the technical standard UNI EN ISO 13432, which certifies its biodegradability and compostability.
If the cap is not compostable in accordance with UNI EN 13432 and cannot be placed in the separate collection for organic waste, the consumer should be instructed to check with their municipality on how to properly dispose of it.
