FAQ

What is the identification code according to Decision 129/97 / EC for a composite packaging, consisting of 70% plastic “7” and 30% paper?

A pack made in this way is a packaging consisting mainly of plastic with paper.

In the event that the packaging consists of a single polymer, to identify the composition material, the C / abbreviation of the polymer + number associated with the plastic and paper coupling must be indicated, i.e. 81 (as per decision 129/97 / EC ).

If the polymer is different from those specified in Decision 129/97 / EC, report the abbreviation of the polymer (you can refer to the technical standard UNI EN 1043-1).

For example, a predominantly plastic (polyamide) packaging with paper can be identified with C / PA 81.

If it is a pack consisting of several polymers plus paper, for the identification of the material, the C / polymer prevailing by weight + number associated with the plastic and paper coupling, i.e. 81 (as per decision 129/97 / EC ).

For example, a predominantly plastic packaging (40% LDPE and 30% PP) with 30% paper can be identified with C / LDPE 81.
