FAQ

How to identify a packaging consisting of metallised polypropylene, and where should it be delivered?

Metallized polypropylene is a composite packaging since it consists of plastic and aluminum which cannot be separated manually.

For the purposes of identifying the packaging material, the coding provided for in Annex VII of Decision 129/97 must be applied to composite packaging only where the secondary packaging material (in this case aluminum) exceeds 5% of the total weight of the packaging. ; otherwise, the coding provided for in Annex VII will not be used but that of mono-material packaging according to the prevailing material by weight which in this case would be Annex I relating to plastic packaging.

Therefore, if the aluminum is <5% of the total weight, the packaging has a PP 5 code and must be disposed of in the separate collection for plastic packaging.

If, on the other hand, the aluminum is> 5% of the total weight, the packaging has the code C / PP 90 and must be disposed of in the separate collection for plastic packaging.
