According to Directive 2024/825/EU, a claim regarding the content of recycled materials in the composition of packaging may be made provided the following conditions are met:
Claims regarding recycled material content must always be specified and qualified (indicating to which item the claim refers—e.g., product, component, packaging, or packaging component—and the percentage of recycled material).
You should always have evidence (based on widely recognized scientific findings) to support what you are communicating.
If you decide to use a sustainability label to indicate the recycled content, it must be based on a certification or accreditation system established by a public authority.
