If the packaging system has been designed with components intended to be separated manually, each of these must necessarily bear the alphanumeric code as per Decision 129/97/EC and the instructions on collection. In these cases it is recommended to indicate to the consumer to separate the different components and to give them separately in the collection according to the material.
The environmental labels (at least the alphanumeric coding as per Decision 129/97 / EC) should be affixed to each of the various components making up the sales unit that can be separated by hand.
Where this is not possible, they may be affixed either to the main body of the packaging, or to another label or any other component that makes the information easily visible to the end consumer.
