FAQ

Are the alpha-numeric codes for packaging made of virgin raw material the same also for packaging with second raw material (recycled material)?

The identification codes of the material pursuant to Decision 129/97 / EC are the same both for packaging made of virgin raw material and for packaging made of recycled material (or secondary raw material).

In the case of packaging made of recycled plastic, it is possible to voluntarily refer to the UNI 10667-1 standard to identify and recognize the recycled polymers. The standard indicates that for recycled polymers the “R” can be inserted before the polymer coding.
